OUR BEGINNINGS
A Journey Built on Heart
The Granny Nanny journey began with a simple observation: while physical care is vital, the human spirit thrives on companionship. My story is rooted in the belief that getting older should never mean getting lonely. I created this community to offer dedicated social enrichment that honors the stories and wisdom of our seniors, bringing genuine connection back into the heart of the home.

Who is Granny Nanny

Hi, I'm Lily! I'm the founder of Granny Nanny, and I'm so glad you're here.
I'm married with three daughters, and for the last five years I've had the joy of staying home with my girls — coaching their sports teams, substitute teaching in elementary and preschool classrooms, and soaking up all the small, meaningful moments that come with raising a family.
Before that, I spent over 8 years working in inpatient hospital care, including adult cardiac, pediatric, and neonatal ICUs, after earning my degrees in Respiratory Therapy and Exercise Science from NDSU. I've also worked in cardiac and pulmonary rehab, and spent time as a personal trainer and fitness instructor. Caring for people — at every stage of life, and often during their most vulnerable moments — has been at the heart of everything I've done professionally.
Granny Nanny was inspired by my two grandmothers. Watching them navigate the joys and challenges of aging showed me firsthand how much older adults benefit from real companionship — someone to visit, to listen, to help with the little things — and how much peace of mind that brings to the families who love them. That experience, combined with my years in healthcare, showed me there was a real need for this kind of care in our community, and I wanted to be the one to fill it.
Outside of work, you'll find me staying active, playing games, cooking, reading, and cheering on women's basketball (coaching my daughters' teams is one of my favorite parts of the week!). But what I love most is simply visiting with people — hearing their stories and having real, meaningful conversations. That's exactly what I hope to bring to every Granny Nanny visit.
